My takeaway: the guy who designed the tool is lying about its accuracy in identifying student protesters.
But, as with many "criminal science" tools, that won't matter until 15-20 years from now, if ever, when someone admits it, but those convicted with it are left to rot.

Yep, this kind of stuff never works anywhere near as well as advertised, but part of the intent is making us all afraid that it does.
