We’d love to hear from you! If you’re open to being quoted in a piece like this please send us a testimonial about why you like #SFBA!
We can’t guarantee we’ll use it, but we want to share your opinion about what makes this such a cool place let us know in the comments!
@announcements @cd24 I love the federated aspect! I love that I can interact with the wider network but also have a home base of people in my area talking about what’s going on locally (why I chose sfba over an interest-centric server). I also love what it’s not - Twitter et al always felt like a mall food court masquerading as the town square. Yes I could visit, but the intent was always to get me to buy something & it got more intrusive as profit margins demanded.
@announcements @cd24 Here I pay in, but it’s genuinely more of a community space because of that.
@paging_chris this is excellent! Thank you
@announcements @cd24 This isn’t suitable for your request, but the thread below is a cogent discussion of how emergency disaster and response became dependent on twitter and now needs to move away from it. This is the kind of thoughtful discussion that Mastodon hopes to achieve regularly. But it’s the first I’ve seen since joining Mastodon, so I hope it keeps happening. A code of conduct works.
