We'll start out with our introduction.

Q1. Where are you posting from today? We had a week full with Walk and Roll to school day and a protected lane ribbon cutting. What is going on in the cycle world around you this week?

A1. I am in Oakland, CA. We celebrated the ribbon cutting of some protected bike lanes on Telegraph Avenue with @BikeEastBay today. It was great to see so much support from city staff for the project. Also some friends from PDX joined!

Our for Walk and Roll to school day (Oct 9th) was a big one and hopefully brought in a few new riders.

@ascentale @BikeEastBay Glad you could make out for the ribbon cutting. I wanted to go but didn't calendar the event so I missed it.

@Heyweldon @BikeEastBay it was nice! I was surprised by how many city staff were out. It’s good to feel supported.

@ascentale A1. I'm posting from Berkeley today as usual. The bike stuff happening in my world right now is prepping for the MTB season. Our preseason activities starts at the end of October with our first MTB Skills Clinic for new riders. Preseason prep also includes getting my bike ready for the season, which this year required a new dropper seatpost and a new lower headset bearing. The old bearing apparently didn't like all the jumping practice I did over the summer!

@ascentale A1. Santa Clara, CA. I got a bike fit done the other day, narrower and raised handlebars are the biggest changes. I never would have guessed that would make a difference.

Oh, and riding home from the gym, the beg button spoke to me as the signal changed “please change the password” or pretty close to that. It didn’t really sink in until I heard it the third time in two weeks!

@rand @ascentale that’s happened to me a bunch too, another reason beg buttons deserve my side eye!
