I casually mentioned to the electrician doing the circuit breaker box move in my home that the California code requiring smoke detectors in each bedroom in my small house seemed like overkill, and he launched into an impassioned speech as to why they’re so important and how they save lives.
So go make sure you have your smoke alarms!
Wasn't aware about each room, although I do have them upstairs and downstairs, in addition to Carbon Monoxide detectors also upstairs and downstairs.
@Starcade I wasn't, either! I had one in the hallway, but none in the bedrooms. But now I do. And I replaced the too-old one in my hallway with a new one which uses the sealed, long-life lithium batteries good for 10 years.
