Since it’s rainy, and tomorrow is the I’ve decided to pack the cars in desiccant so pull the moisture out of the wood. Then after weigh in, they’ll sit on a table for a few hours absorbing the humidity, and hopefully getting heavier.

Is it cheating? Kinda. It feels like a boxer trick. But as someone said, “If you ain’t cheat in’, you ain’t racin’!”

Will this actually do something? Probably not. The cars are already painted, so the moisture can only be gained/lost through the bottom, and it’s a pretty slow process.

However, I have seen them gain a few hundredths of ounces overnight, so maybe!

I’m definitely going to weight them after the race.

The big thing this year is that I grabbed one of my cars from when I was a kid.

I’m going to race my old car against a car I made this year. Obviously, parents essentially make the cars (You can’t let a 9 year old use a bandsaw), so it’s really a race between me and my dad. A race 40 years in the making!

I will say this. The car my dad made looks WAAAAY better than the ones I made. He painted them with automotive paint and clear coat. I just used a rattle can.
