Hello all, as you may have heard in both our in-person meetups and online channels, we are making a significant transition for the organization. Effective this week, we are changing our name from “Code for San José” to “Open Source San José”. This change comes as a legal directive from Code for America, in effort to let go of its brigade program and shift management back to its individual chapters. 1/4
We believe this new name better reflects our mission and aligns with our commitment to open-source principles for our community in the South Bay Area. For more details about this transition and its implications, please visit the FAQ page at https://cfa.notion.site/Frequently-Asked-Questions-FAQ-c4f08102c60544828e9ea4501bf2bc65#a3babcc73f7d4e8681d46d43efbbaa50.

This will include both social media name changes, as well as domain name changes, particularly email and website. We will be conducting these changes on volunteer time, so please bear with us as we navigate them and build a stronger foundation for the future. We appreciate your continued support as we embark on this new chapter as Open Source San José! 3/4

Alright folks big corporate message done… domain name changes and account ownership can be challenging, but for volunteers working on specific projects, your individual workflows shouldn’t be impacted beyond deployment, and that is mainly where the domain name changes come in. As always, thanks for bearing with us on this, the projects are our bread and butter and fingers are crossed that we’ll take them all live very soon! 4/4
