Yes, our first nights on the Moon were spent in hammocks: that's really how the Apollo astronauts slept! They have two of the hammocks in storage at the Smithsonian as I speak:

Ein Cevennen-Apollo im Angesicht der ersten goldenen Sonnenstrahlen. Gibt nicht viele mir bekannte Stellen, an denen man diese Bergfalter so bequem zu Sonnenauf- oder -untergang fotografieren kann, wie auf den weiläufigen Steppenplateaus im Zentralmassiv. Auf Gotland klappt sowas noch gelegentlich, oder im Jura, sonst sind immer die Berge im Weg und die Sonne hat schon/noch zu viel Kraft, wenn sie denn auftaucht oder verschwindet.

Die Schicksale der #MercurySeven :

Al Shepard flog als erster mit #Freedom 7 auf einer Mercury-Redstone. Mit #Apollo 14 war er auf dem #Mond. Seine zwei #Golfbälle sind die einzigen dort oben.

Gus Grissom war der Nächste. Sein Pech bei der Wasserung mit #LibertyBell7 (die absprengbare Tür ging auf) war ein Faktor in der Kette von Fehlentscheidungen, die ihn, Roger Chaffee und Ed White das Leben kosteten. Vorher flog er noch auf #Gemini 3, wo er die Raumkapsel #MollyBrown taufte.
