I saw this book on another post - and so went and found a copy at a 2nd hand book shop…
Looking forward to lunches at work with a cup of tea and maybe a couple of rainy Sundays at home…

many of you enjoyed "Bertrand Russell’s Chicken". This is the 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮. Russell’s parable of the chicken and Spencer Johnson’s Cheese story share a common lesson—life is unfair to those who don’t notice, deny and resist change. The cheese will move, and the farmer’s habits may change. The key to survival is not clinging to old realities but anticipating shifts and adapting quickly. Don’t take stability for granted—stay prepared, keep moving, and always look for new opportunities.

I know some folks going to demonstrations today, I have to work, I found some stuff that kinda speaks to that.

Mostly people are trying to live their lives despite what we mostly agree is an Earth Emergency and a demonstrably sick system. I have to keep going to work for now. I'm ready for big change, not little change. We live, frustrated, with a potential or a possibility.

In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion.

"The body is just a reflection.
We think mind AND body, but this is all false.
Body and mind is just one thing.
The body is just the mind seen.
It is the visible aspect of the mind.
Mind and body are one entity.
It's just one we can see, the other we can't, but it is one entity.
It's a continuum."
- Mia Khalil

What we need to understand if we want to keep our #civilization is: We are not preventing #change because we are not acting. Many of us are trying our best, but it doesn't change anything. Why? Because a complex #social #system always reproduces its behavior. That is a law of nature. The only way to fundamentally change such a system is to destroy it and create a new one. This has happened often enough in the history of mankind. It will also happen to our civilization.

I am thankful for change. As I read, listen and watch the news unfolding around the world. I am horrified by some, angry, frustrated, even stressed by much of it but it wont last. Truly it's not sustainable, for nothing but the flow of change is consistent.

If you ever need a mental shift into positive change, seek to be near flowing water. Let the beauty of nature wash away your worries, carrying them downstream through the current of change. Change is always coming, so be ready to support that which you hope to see.
