That’s the day Donald Trump’s advisory committee is expected to release its findings on whether he should invoke the Insurrection Act — a move that would allow him to deploy the military domestically and allow Trump to impose martial law. (San Francisco Chronicle). Given Hegseth and Noem are the main 'advisors', the conclusion is foregone.

And as his two months in office has already shown, he won’t stop at just a legal opinion.

Expect an executive order even that same day or the next, officially declaring the Insurrection Act, restricting freedoms in the name of restoring control of the border and perhaps in blue-state cities, and setting the larger plan in motion.

Of course, this won’t be framed as an attack on democracy. It will be packaged as a necessary response to crisis — as authoritarian takeovers always are.

But once it happens, there’s no going back.

On a team of 12 we just had 5 people opt for retirement.

After being on a teams call with everyone in my group suddenly I'm not so worried about the 50% RIFs. I always knew that 1/3 of the work force was retirement eligible but seeing a bunch of people all retire at once hits differently. 5 people on my team of 12 announced they are retiring or taking the early retirement. They said their rational was for every one of them that takes retirement someone else's job will be saved. So to all the boomers who are opting for retirement thank you.

I’m out after 4 years take care everyone.

I just hit 4 years as a fed. My anniversary is ironically coinciding with my decision this week to take my agencies’s second offer. If there’s one thing I think we could collectively agree on is literally EVERY Fed’s situation is different. No judgment for whatever anyone decides is best. This was it, ladder to a 12, great benefits, my MRA was age 57 you name it…After outweighing the pros and cons, my age (late 20s) not even vested in the pension yet, ctap list basically holding no value , lots of talk about flex scheduling being taken away, what’s in it for me? lol….nor do I even want to work for this administration yeah I’m taking 5 months of pay and peace of mind, and the pay out of over 200 annual hours in September. A weight has been lifted, I feel scared but also excited at the same time take care all, I believe we all have a comradery that transcends time-those of have dealt with all the shit and been there for each other we can truly only relate to each other on that level. I repeat do what is best for YOU.

EPA is investigating every employee’s badge swipes into the building….

….When they logged into their laptop, and comparing it to their timesheets. We got an email Tuesday night stating that they are going do this for everyone since returning to the office. I feel like I’m being treated like a criminal for just coming in and doing my job. It feels like a trap after making us all RTO full time quickly (when many of us live far away from our offices), being demonized by the public, being demoralized little by little everyday, and many of us newer employees come in everyday not knowing if we’ll have a job tomorrow. It is clear they are trying to fire as many people as possible without giving us severance pay and the 60 day notice. One person at my workplace was accused yesterday of timesheet discrepancies. The person came back with receipts proving her timesheet was accurate, and they said “oopsies, wrong person, sorry”
