A delegation from the #Druze community in #Syria arrived in the #Golan Heights for a first visit in five decades.

Around 100 Syrian Druze religious elders crossed into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in buses and headed to meet Israeli Druze leaders and community.

The head of the Syrian Druze Community, Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif, called the visit "A historic, festive day".

Most of the world's Druze live in southern Syria, southern Lebanon, and northern Israel.

So Israel claims that their advance in Southern Syria is going to protect the Druze minority from sectarian violence.
Israel has used the Druze as an excuse before, when the Israelis blamed Hezbollah for one of their Iron Dome interceptor missiles landing in a Druze village in the Golan Heights on 27 July 2024. Children were amongst the dead.
Guess who's calling out Israeli's BS? The Druze themselves both then and now.
