Frinton-on-Sea has always been a bit snooty. No pubs were allowed, and instead of "keep off the grass" signs they had ones that read "no picnicking upon the greensward". An old railway advert, seeking to attract ferry passengers said "Harwich for the Continent". It was invariably defaced with "and Frinton for the incontinent"

The home page says "Since 2005, 13,980 contributors have submitted 7,964,955 images covering 282,951 grid squares, or 85.2% of the total squares"

The reason for the numeric discrepancy is that not all submissions pass moderation

"Track above the Silver Glen
A gravel track that initially climbs steeply up from the foot of the Ochils in a series of zigzags or switchbacks.

Wood Hill, crowned with its distinctive crown of trees, is visible in the background."
