I really enjoyed @Felienne's narrative about narratives about Computer Science yesterday. She applied some of the ideas presented in the Glaciers, Gender and Science paper (journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/1) to her experiences in the Computer Science / Programming Languages communities. She's also starting a reading club to brainstorm the meaning (and the name?) of the field of "Computer Science".

Yesterday at ICT.OPEN I also attended a panel discussion on "Bridging the Gap between Research and Industry through Application-Oriented AI Innovations"

It was mostly academics in the room, but I had an interesting chat with Dr. Floor Campfens and my colleague Dr. Anna Lukina afterwards, where we talked about the research done at RIWO, and of course our research at TU Delft.

Waarom wordt (te) vaak wél de (kunstmatig intelligente) computer geloofd, maar niét de (gewoon intelligente) burger.
Zoals hier: na een reclamatie van de burger wordt eerst naar die burger gekeken, en pas na een halfjaar aandringen naar het eigen falen.

The Trump administration shows little regard for the rule of law or court decisions and appears focused on consolidating power and self-enrichment. U.S. legislation, treaties, and regulations—especially around data, privacy, and IT security—can no longer be considered reliable. Assume the administration will act unilaterally and unpredictably. Adjust your IT strategies to reduce dependencies on U.S.-based infrastructure and legal frameworks accordingly.
