If I ever get the right combination of bored and motivated it would be kinda cool to ride the entire ridiculous #melbourne route 901 bus from Melbourne Airport to Frankston. It takes 4 hours, 232 stops and stretches 115km. I think it would be a interesting way see bits of Melbourne life I don’t usually

Went out to collect a friend earlier today, and saw all the Royal Childrens Hospital Good Friday appeal collectors out and about. No cash in car, but donated electronically once I got home again.

(The Royal Childrens (or just "the kids") is the major paediatric hospital here in Melbourne. They have meerkats.

Met up with a friend in Thornbury for a coffee before work on Wednesday. I like these random little cafes that are scattered through Melbourne's inner-city suburbs within former corner shops, they have loads of personality. This one, Briki, is right next to Thornbury's train station.

The Damsel has flowered! (See mastodon.social/@winterknell/1 for history.)

Bugs ate her first flowerbud, but she has succeeded on her second try.

She is still a tiny rose bush, only about 25 cm across, and the rose, though relatively small for a Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, looks enormous on her!

Our roses had a horrid summer of blighting heat and swarming, hungry bugs; it's nice to see them springing back in mid-Autumn.🙏

There is an increased risk of #measles in the greater #Melbourne area, with a number of new exposure sites identified.

A growing number of measles cases have acquired their infection locally in #Victoria. There is also an ongoing risk of measles being imported into Victoria by travellers returning from overseas or interstate.

These recent measles cases have been infectious while in public settings at multiple locations around greater Melbourne & #Gippsland.

Apropos eggs: according to my local egg seller from the South #Melbourne Market we have probably another nine months with eggs shortage. Millions of hens were culled in the big egg factories when they had bird flu. The small producers are doing well but slowly the big supermarkets are sucking in their supply as well. But the small producers don't want to grow big. They would lose later even if they do, because the big players will return and have much more money backing them.
