Except THIS is not how any of this works!....

All it will do is see the #USA as #unpredictable, #unstable and less #trustworthy than the "P.R." #China or even #Russia under #Putin.

#Trump literally lashing out against friends and neighbours will only backfire hard, and I expect @EUCommission and @europarl_en to enact #PrizeFreezes for #US #products & #services whilst forcing #Retaliatory #Tariffs on all US #products and espechally #services, demanding 100%+ in all #fees, and #revenue of #GAFAMs' services and products to the point that they'll effectively cancel half their revenue that flows back.

Plus forcing all products and services to be processed and sold via a #EU-based #corporation and adding a 30% "#AlienTax" as the #USA already does for i.e. #App #developers that ain't from the US even if they never sold a single license to a US customer.

Not to mention cancelling any #DataProtection agreements that only stalled the foreseeable court decision that #CloudAct is incompatible with #GDPR, thus banning #Office365 / #Microsoft365, #iCloud et. al. from the EU!

And yes, this level of #retaliation is not only just, but #overdue, as we need @european_alternatives / #EuropeanAlternatives to #VISA, #AMEX, #MasterCard, #PayPal, #Steam, etc.

Given #Trump can't be assed to even fake any #loyality or #allied status even for the cameras, this is a #ForeseeableConsequence.

As only with #Accountability and #Consequences will we see change, and punishing the GAFAMs is a neessity in this regard.

Unless we want to end up #downgraded into the state of a US-occupied overseas possession without statehood, like #Guam, #PuertoRico or #AVI...

#TLDR: @Pando rightfully complained that the school decided to just make #Microsoft365 accounts for their kid, which is in elementary school, without written consent, which no matter how one turns it around is pretty much a no-no as Under-12's even by U.S. law cannot consent to that!

Ich widerspreche vehement dieser naiven Einschätzung durch @morl99 gerade weil #Microsoft sich verweigert #Office365 & #Microsoft365 so umzustrukturieren dass es #SelfHosting bzw. fully-managed Optionen gibt die nachweislich eine Compliance mit #CloudAct verunmöglichen.

Wobei iher fraglich ist ob dies überhaupt legal sein könnte und ob das #Trump-Regime überhaupt noch ansatzweise #Rechtsstaatlichkeit besitzt, angesichts Fälle von #Verschwindenlassen und illegaler, gewaltsamer #Deportationen ins "#Guantanamo bei #Bukele bestellt"...

Ich folge nur nicht der generellen Einschätzung, dass alle US-Dienste nun nicht mehr nutzbar sind. Da gibt es vermutlich ja auch noch einen Unterschied ob das Kind 6 oder 14 ist, oder?

@morl99 @Pando nein, #Microsoft's Tochter in #Irland kann und darf dies nicht ohne dass der #Mutterkonzern dafür in #Regress genommen wird.

Oder glaubste.ersnthaft #Nadella et. al. riskieren lebenslang #Kmast für weniger als deren "Stundenlohn"?

Ernsthaft, finde einen Fall wo ein Konzern soch erfolgreich gegen #CloudAct wehren konnte...

Denn so einen Fall gibt es nicht!

#NotLegalAdvice aber allein das Risiko entsprechender #Massenüberwachung und #Datendiebstahl und nicht-existierender #Rechtsstaatlichkeit (weder müssen Betroffene benachrichtigt werden noch gibt es Rechtsmittel um.die Rechtmäßigkeit anzufechten) machen #Microsoft365 / #Office365 genauso untauglich wie #AlibabaCloud & #WPSoffice [aus der "V.R." China]!

Und ich kenne keine*n Jurist*in die für Microsoft die Hand ins Feuer legen! Hab' auch nur value-removing #Reseller gesehen die was anderes behaupten!

Selbst das (seit langem eingestellte) #Microsoft365-Deutschland - Angebot mit Hosting bei der #DTAG hat die #Authentifizierung immernoch bei #Microsoft in den #USA durchgeführt, und dadurch ist immernoch #Zugriff gem. #CloudAct gegeben gewesen!

Und #SelfHosting wie bei @nextcloud & @CollaboraOffice ist bei #Office365 nicht möglich!

@Pando würde als Betroffene Erzeugerfraktion mal mit https://wbs.legal reden, denn nicht nur bin ich davon überzeugt dass qua #CloudAct #Microsoft365 nicht #DSGVO- und #BDSG-konform sein kann, sondern es gibt bereits Rechtssprechung nach der #Eltern nicht den #Datenschutz der #Kinder "weggeben" können oder auch nur dem zustimmen können!

@dan_ballard Since T-bird is (presumably) a USA based service, you might want to consider keeping your data out of reach of US based intelligence agencies by using one or more of these services, including email services.
