When the fountain at the Milwaukee Art Museum was turned off, the still pond offered a breathtaking reflection of the office buildings at night. It resembled a mesmerizing mirror on the ground rather than a typical fountain pond.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is a sight to behold, especially on a cold winter night. The Reiman Bridge, designed by Santiago Calatrava, leads to the entrance of the museum. The wings of the museum, known as Burke Brise Soleil, are open, indicating that the winds are calm. This architectural masterpiece is truly a work of art in itself.

I really miss going to big art museums like the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. When we lived in Milwaukee, it was so easy to go to the art museum and just get lost in there, moving from one gallery to the next, soaking in the beauty. It was a wonderful way to spend the day....

The Milwaukee Art Museum is an iconic structure on Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The iconic addition was completed in 2001 and was designed by Santiago Calatrava. The Burke Brise Soleil "wings" forms a moveable sunscreen and will close automatically if winds exceed 23 mph for more than 3 minutes. I was thrilled to see the wings were open when I visited after dark. The museum is reflected in the art museum's fountain pond.
