The familiar 16-digit number is going away to be replaced by a 'random number' that is created each time you want to pay for something.I like the extra <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/security" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#security</a> - no credit card number to steal - but what about convenience? s1m0n4American Express, Visa and MasterCard are all US companies. I don't understand much about finance, but can't this be problematic at some point? Shouldn't the EU have its own payment circuit?Is it possible that those companies would go bankrupt?
