Over 85% of approx 108,000 #SanMateo voters approve the removal of ethically challenged sheriff Christina Corpus by a four fifths vote of county supervisors. Support for the unique #BallotMeasure garnered 90,900 votes for her removal, more than she won her office with. 17,318 county residents voted against removing the embattled #LawEnforcement official who has so far lost support of seven cities in the county, two sheriff’s unions,state and federal congressional leaders that have all called for Corpus to resign.
“While the initiative was in many ways unprecedented, it is our firm belief that, in this case, decisive action was necessary,” local #PoliceUnions said in a joint statement. “Today’s certified vote means that Sheriff Corpus’s reign of unscrupulous mismanagement will soon come to an end.”
Corpus says she has no plans to resign and her legal team is ready to fight the matter out in the courts saying she is "entitled to a public evidentiary hearing before a neutral and unbiased body. My legal team and I look forward to this opportunity, and are confident that I will be vindicated through a legitimate process.”

- Excessive rainfall is forecast through the region. Around 1-3 inches of rain is expected across the warned region by Sunday afternoon, with locally higher totals up to 5 inches in the higher elevations.

It’s not just the rough condition of the paint. I find the shape of this 1963 #Chevrolet #ChevyII 300 I saw on a #SanMateo walk earlier this week to be a rather homely example of 1960s #ClassicCars design.
I mean, if you’re going to replace your lawn with dryscaping and artificial turf, why not make it a mini putting green?

In spite of the rough condition of its finish, I find this example of #SanMateo #ClassicCars to be handsome. I was a little thrown by the non-standard side emblems, but the angular body shape, rear end, and taillights are unmistakably a 1965 #Ford #Fairlane.
