Napa county communities likely to face power cuts include hilly areas west of Napa, Yountville and St. Helena; Wooden Valley; Lake Hennessey; Circle Oaks; areas near Angwin; Pope Valley; and the vicinity of Robert Louis Stevenson State Park north of Calistoga.

Napa county community resource centers from noon to 10 p.m. on Thursday at the Calistoga Community Center at 1307 Washington St., and at Pacific Union College, 35 La Jota Drive in Angwin. An Angwin center will be outdoors.

For the reporters, editors and headline writers who persist in calling California Forever a "utopian" project, bear in mind what one of the principals, Mike Moritz, wrote to his billionaire pals when he was shopping the idea around.

Per The New York Times: "The financial gains could be huge, Mr. Moritz said in the 2017 pitch. He estimated the return could be many times the initial investment just from the rezoning, and far more if and when they started building.

"'If the plans materialize anywhere close to what is being contemplated, this should be a spectacular investment,' Mr. Moritz wrote."

No surprise there, really. You don't get these folks to put up $800 million without the promise of a big return somewhere down the road.

Bearing that in mind, be prepared for an insanely expensive local election campaign if this "utopia" goes to the Solano County ballot.

🍕 Food news: Sonoma County-based Mary's Pizza Shack announced today that it is closing its Dixon, Napa and Novato locations as part of company wide restructuring and due to "unchanging realities of increased food & labor costs mixed w/other compounding issues facing our industry."
