But I believe what the Guardian writes is correct. I filled out a USSoccer survey where I told them soccer will not advance in the USA as long as they and the soccer media let Alexi Lalas continue to represent the game. Alexi only represents himself and a lot of right wing beliefs. Enuf already!

Someone pointed out to me that Eric Wynalda is wrong, Jay Berhalter is NOT on the Board of USSoccer. Of the 2, only Don Garber is a board member. That’s kind of a big misstatement by Eric. But still, a big brazen “FU USSoccer” from MLS and Don Garber as they take their ball and go home.

I didn’t realize that Jay Berhalter is on the Board of . Wow, talk about having a malevolent fox in the henhouse. Wynalda says Jay is behind MLS taking itself out of the US Open Cup. So with Jay on the Board, then that keeps USSoccer from punishing MLS, e.g. by removing the Division 1 status.

Bolavip · Eric Wynalda: 'Matt Crocker was brought in to do absolutely nothing'By Kelvin Loyola

Is the lackluster performance in a side effect of Equal Pay?
Players aren’t as extraordinarily fit and competitive as in 2019 because
- They no longer compete with each other for the coveted NT contracts
- They aren’t out to prove that they deserve
- They don’t have an ahole in the White House to stand up against
- The team has more moms

Maybe Carli Lloyd is right and USWNT is not about winning right now.
Hard to do it all and then do it again.

Disheartening article: the US Center for SafeSport is unable to process the 8,000 cases it receives annually. 1/3 cases were closed at SafeSport’s discretion, with no requirement to provide explanation. An abuser in the Sally Yates report got his coaching license back, overruling .

@cbssportsgolazo i know CBS Sports doesn’t read Mastodon comments. But based on the 2 men’s past relationships, it seems to me that hired Matt Crocker in order to convince Jesse Marsch to become coach. While Jesse has made more progress in Europe than any other fully American coach, it just seems like his footballing style is better for a club team rather than players you only see a few times a year.

@buddhabound Yeah, I’m not sure what to make of the story. I would rather see let go by USMNT because he’s not very tactical and I don’t like his roster decisions. I don’t think what he did 30 years ago should apply now, seeing as how his wife has forgiven him. The fact he did such a thing at an age beyond 8 years old is very very bad, but that shouldn’t be the #1 reason he loses his job.
