Democracy must be re-established in every generation. It goes against the way people think: emotionally instead of rationally, subjectively instead of objectively, selfishly instead of for the common good. It must therefore be kept alive with constant effort. The only way to have a functioning democracy is to promote #understanding and #morality among #voters.
We have practically given up on both in our #schools. If we don't change this as quickly as possible, our #democracy will die.
