sgt1372<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://sfba.social/@paulmison" class="u-url mention">@<span>paulmison</span></a></span> Most people who live in SF now haven't lived here long enough to remember when we had really conservative <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Mayors" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Mayors</span></a> in <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/SF" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SF</span></a>.</p><p>Anyone else remember <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/JohnShelly" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JohnShelly</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/GeorgeChristopher" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GeorgeChristopher</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/JoeAlioto" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JoeAlioto</span></a> & <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/ArtAgnos" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ArtAgnos</span></a> & <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/DianneFinestein" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DianneFinestein</span></a> Some of them were considered <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Liberal" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Liberal</span></a> but in today's environment they were <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/OldSchool" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OldSchool</span></a> <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Conservatives" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Conservatives</span></a> all the way, regardless of their political affiliation.</p><p>Even <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/GeorgeMoscone" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GeorgeMoscone</span></a> was pretty conservative as <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Dems" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dems</span></a> go & <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/WillieBrown" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>WillieBrown</span></a>, <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/EdLee" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EdLee</span></a> & <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/GavinNewsom" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GavinNewsom</span></a> were the closest thing to a <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/Progressive" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Progressive</span></a> that SF ever had as a mayor but they were still decidedly centrist.</p><p>I know a lot of people don't like <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/LondonBreed" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LondonBreed</span></a> but she's an <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/SFNative" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SFNative</span></a> (a big PLUS for me, as a SF native too) & she's demonstrated a common sense approach to politics in <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/TheCity" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TheCity</span></a> following in the tradition of Willie Brown, who advises her, which also scores a lot of points for me.</p><p>So, like it or not, personally, I hope Breed is re-elected.</p>
