#TIL that the source code for adding ActivityPub support to a Ghost instance is available for experimentation by community-hosters. With the caveat that;

"This repository is being actively developed and is currently in early alpha - expect many breaking changes. It is not suitable for production use."

I think I’ve found a relatively nice solution for #FediLinks in #Conversations_im.

You can put web+ap URIs into a message (or room description) and ideally a click on those will open your Mastodon client. However if no installed app supports those (the only app that I’m aware of is Fedilab) Conversations will open a browser instead.

Currently no app will create web+ap links but it is fairly easy to handcraft them.

I wonder how realistic (as in convenient and usable) to run a Fediverse instance that's actually just a WordPress installation with the ActivityPub plugin.
Has anyone tried?

I understand that it may not be the best way to proceed (as WordPress wasn't designed for this) but it could bean easy way to introduce people like me (long time WordPress users but not tech people) to running their own Fediverse instances.

Agenda preparation for the April ForumWG meeting can be found at this public link (anyone can make comments for review.)

Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, at 13h00 to 14h00 Eastern Time (currently 17h00 to 18h00 UTC). You can find them listed in the SocialCG Calendar. The next meeting will be held on 3 April 2025.

We will be discussing:

  • Review of brainstorm/whiteboarding session from March
  • Context Ownership
    • Brainstorm use cases/user stories
  • Moving objects (between contexts) and moving contexts (between audiences)
    • Relies on context ownership “FEP”
    • Brainstorm use cases/user stories
    • Support for multiple objects (forking)?
    • Same origin only? Support moving objects/contexts between instances? Different FEP?

Alright even after doing some reading and searches, I think I still need help understanding what a Relay is. Like I understand the concept of the #ActivityPub protocal and #Fediverse as an end user. And I vaguely get that Relays are kinda like backbone hops on the internet or transmission lines in the power grid (sort of). That they help propagate content. But what *are* they functionally? Are they like an api, a single user instance admin functioning as a bot, a headless client, like what are they in that sense?
