In non-agenda public comments one was against slow street in west end on Santa Clara. Two were in support for a permanent memorial for Mario Gonzalez (and raising frustration that existing memorial was removed). One was about process for member of the public to ask staff questions etc before hearings

The latest post from The Morning Bun is a call to action for the Fernside project, which goes before City Council Tuesday night. This is a pivotal moment/opportunity for several reasons, not least is that it's the first time two new Councilmembers get to vote on a big street safety project.

This Tuesday City Council will be voting on the Fernside project. While the long-term design is great, it's dependent on funding which may be hard to come by given the competitive funding landscape and the new federal administration. CM Pryor brought up equity, noting that a $500 fine was pretty steep. The mayor noted that nobody was required to run a red light. And that the lights are near two senior centers, and we should consider the quality of life of people who don't drive.

It sounds like there might be future discussion of payment plans for tickets.

When I heard about the item, I wondered about people turning left on yellow, but these are intersections with left turn lanes. So not an issue.
