Tom<p>The peppers are doing typical indoor pepper things. Last week it was getting humid in there so I opened it up for a couple of days to dry it out. A little bit of edema on some some peppers but it's all lower leaves that will die off anyway. There's a fan that circulates the air down when the lights are on and I have vents open now. Need to prune the geraniums more. Tau<p>Plot news, there you go. Realigned the boards of the growing areas, looks almost normal. Today redistributed cauli and cabbage, also carrots. While at it also distributed basil plants, lidl issue, indoors and outdoors.</p><p>Yesterday remade the entrance of the greenhouse, removed the lot and installed a large sheet of semi-transparent plastic. To hold it in place, added a chinese straw blind, just for fun. Works a marvel, temp inside reached 32C!</p><p>Also saw a Merlin, i think, dark grey top light brown underside, landed not 10 metres away and I didn't make it to take a good photo. Bah!</p><p>And so it plods along. As soon as I was planting the carrots a slug showed up an quickly, slugishly rather, made its slithery way to attack them. Henry<p>Good news, the <a href="https://social.lol/tags/basil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>basil</span></a> is looking *much* happier since the last update (<a href="https://social.lol/@hl/114131721669954039" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">social.lol/@hl/114131721669954</span><span class="invisible">039</span></a>).</p><p>Luckily it wasn't any kind of mildew. I did the following:<br>- Fluffed up the soil with a fork, as it seemed to be pretty compacted from the watering<br>- started watering from the bottom<br>- Added some used tea leaves to the soil as some basic fertiliser.</p><p>I don't know which helped, but there's been no more yellow leaves since.</p><p><a href="https://social.lol/tags/gardening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gardening</span></a></p>

Tom<p>Basil is looking good, I've kept a loose cover over it so it's not drying out fast. Tom<p>Some of the replanted California Wonder 300 peppers have sprouted. It looks like it's last years seeds so what I saved must be duds. Probably should have did a germination test on everything. Henry<p>So the <a href="https://social.lol/tags/Basil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Basil</span></a> was doing ok, and trimming the top so it splits and becomes bushier also shorter...but now the lower leaves are yellow and sad, plus there are grey patches on them. What have I done wrong here? Too much water, too little, too much sun. Some kind of mould or fungus? I haven't added any fertiliser, so it can't be too much of that. Tom<p>Indoor growing and seed starting update. The lettuce is growing fast and one pot makes about two nice sized bowls of salad. Most of the basil has sprouted except the Thai and Holy Green.
