Reminder: The San Francisco Fire Department is the largest and most influential institutional opponent to protected bike lanes and intersections (and other infrastructure that would make streets safer for people).

The best thing SFFD could do for is stop obstructing.

@ohrite since speed limits are so widely ignored, & SFPD refuses to enforce traffic safety (heck, the number of SFPD vehicles I see ignoring the vehicle code re speeds, stops, right on red)

So let's use some of the money going to SFPD for faster, better traffic engineering fixes.

I can't help but believe traffic engineers know how to design speed bumps that you can drive over at 20 mph, and get a real shock at 30.

Perfect streets approaching/leaving on/off ramps

And then no turn on red arrows for the pedestrian walk phases, with camera enforcement.

And not just at 4th & King.
