In the same way that people have their own house rules for other games like free parking in monopoly, or stacking +2s in uno, I think we should introduce a tile swapping rule in Scrabble for when a player has only vowels and another player has only consonants. Last night we played games with our friends! We started with Under the Mango Tree, followed by The Choice and Sixto. Since we still had time to play a game, they requested Under the Mango Tree again

The boys were looking for a boardgame to play tonight, and on a whim we pulled out the old, old Avalon Hill Dune boardgame. Probably hasn't been opened in decades, but I vaguely remembered how to play it from childhood. Where I rarely played it for real.
Simon, as the Harkonnens, won in the third round as my attempt to oust him from a third stronghold failed because Lady Jessica was his traitor. Still, it may have some potential. (And it makes a change from "Root"...)
What a fun little game! I can't wait to try out the solo scenarios.

Strange catch: last time I've been to #Latvia was in 2019, but I see posts of some Latvian guys here on Mastodon. 
Someone else sent me a funny video by #BoardGameHangover - a channel I've never heard of before. In one scene there's a paperback labeled "Rimi". That rang a bell, even if I never was in that store. Looked it up and was right: the YouTubers are from Latvia.

Starting to get into Gathering of Friends times with games played on this day over the years.
Can’t believe it is 11 years since I played my 5WD prototype with @gilhova or that I never finished it off.
Suddenly having a cabinet packed with loads of board games I've never even played yet seems like incredible planning. #boardgames #tariffs

What #BoardGames do you really like, but you just can't win at? Whether it be solo or multiplayer?
Mine is Wayfarers of the South Tigris. I've played it 12 times against the solo AI deck, and I have NEVER won a single time. I've tried all the decks too, and I suck against every single one.
Tonight, I thought I was doing so well. It was finally going to be my time! I had so many space cards and inspiration cards... lost by 10 points.
