Amsterdam_XXXThe “Wiegbrug” (bridge no. 173) is a movable bridge over the Kostverlorenvaart. It links De Clercqstraat with Admiraal de Ruijterweg. The name refers to the type of bridge built here in 1904: a rolling bascule bridge. 🌉 <br> <br> In 2004, artist Leonie Mijnlieff added a piece of art to the bridgekeeper’s house. Called “Boegbeeld”, the artwork marks the entrance to ‘De Baarsjes’ and refers to nearby streets, named after Dutch naval heroes. Historic ships once had decorative figureheads.
