I’ve been using <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/LiO" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LiO</a> from its beginning on both <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Windows</a> and <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Linux</a> as well as <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/MacOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MacOS</a>. The cross-device integration is much better with iWork and I’ve found <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Numbers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Numbers</a> to be more advanced (at least for my limited use of spreadsheets) than either Excel or Calc. But if you use LiO on your desktop or notebook and <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Collabora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Collabora</a> on your tablet or mobile, w/ the Cloud, they work.

Jiří EischmannI really like the integration of <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/CollaboraOfficeOnline" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CollaboraOfficeOnline</a> into <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Nexctloud" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Nexctloud</a>, but the built-in CODE server takes up 1.6GB of memory, which is just too much for my 4GB VPS. <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Hetzner" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Hetzner</a> Storage Share doesn't even include it for this reason. Nextloud allows you to connect to any <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Collabora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Collabora</a> Online server. Such a resource-intensive service is a great candidate for sharing, but no one offered it as a (paid) service, so I asked <a href="https://mastodon.arch-linux.cz/@archos" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@archos</a> if they could offer it as part of their <a href="https://mamutovo.cz/@oscloud" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@oscloud</a>. They did and it works great and I just set up a recurring donation for them. 👍

Wenn NC daheim laufen und von extern erreichbar sein soll, würde ich das über <a href="https://fediworld.de/tags/VPN" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#VPN</a> oder einen <a href="https://fediworld.de/tags/SSH" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#SSH</a> Tunnel machen.

AndreasKann ich eigentlich bei Nextcloud ein Dokument, das ich (mit Bearbeitungsrechten) mit anderen geteilt habe, dieses temporär für die Bearbeitung sperren?Hintergrund ist, dass ich für größere Änderungen (z.B. viele Grafiken einfügen) gerne offline arbeiten würde (Dokument runterladen, in Libreoffice bearbeiten, wieder hochladen), weil das flüssiger läuft als das online-Office. However it occurred to me that most of my text editing requirements are covered by the Markdown editor. Plus I know from experience that the Next Cloud office suites can be frustratingly laggy. Pascal LeinertIch habe gerade was seltsames entdeckt. Wie soll ich das jetzt verstehen? WTangoFoxtrot<a href="https://social.alexhyett.com/@alex" class="u-url mention">@alex</a> would suggest <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/nextcloud" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#nextcloud</a> over syncthing, it's integration with apps like <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/collabora" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#collabora</a> (think office365/google-docs but locally hosted), its photos app called memories which does a lot (timeline, suggestions, video transcoding and facial recognition) and lastly the pretty competent mobile app are all very handy to have.
