UK also has too many cops, but still less. We also have Antisocial Behaviour Officers and Trading Standards Officers and Noise Officers, and a whole plethora of other positions that aren't cops but have enforcement powers if they use proper channels. Bureaucratic yes, but better than Chad turns up and shoots your cousin 'cos she's having a mental health crisis.
