“The best the degrowth literature has to offer served on a silver platter.”

That’s how economist Timothée Parrique describes The Future Is Degrowth: A Guide to a World Beyond Capitalism.

This book is a powerful, comprehensive read into what the #degrowth movement is all about: a bold, systemic alternative to the status quo of endless growth. If you’ve ever questioned the sustainability of our current economic model, this book might just offer the clarity you’ve been seeking.

"Mir geht es im Wesentlichen darum, zu erkennen, dass Kapitalismus Knappheit schafft, und Entschleunigung mehr Sicherheit schafft. Und nur mit Kollektiven und Graswurzelgruppen wird Transformation nicht funktionieren. I suppose that's one way to curb our addiction to goods that were made cheaply in China? #Degrowth by #TradeWars? However, it WILL hurt American business, and a lot of the small ones won't survive. Will #Trump and fiends blame #GeorgeSoros when constituents of red states storm republicans' offices with torches and pitchforks? We'll see...

Trump's China tariff shocks US importers. One CEO calls it 'end of days'

By Paul Wiseman, April 12, 2025

Excerpt: "It might at least be the end of an era of inexpensive consumer goods in America. For four decades, and especially since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001, Americans have relied on Chinese factories for everything from smartphones to Christmas ornaments."
