In this case, I have two #PoE devices (a camera and an access point) and I don't want to spend 100€ on a PoE passthrough switch (plus the energy it will consume from now on...)

Make U/FTP great again?
I got a few of those slim cat6a patch cables and I like them a lot. Could save a lot of space/weight/hassle compared to boring cat7 cables.
Any concerns when used up to 10m length? I just plugged this cable into a 10gbase-t link which seems to work fine.
What's your favorite fancy CAT cable?

@adlerweb @nixCraft you can thank @BNetzA and illegal #VDSL #subsidies for that.
#WasFehlt: vorgeschriebene #Kindersicherung bei #Koaxialkabel|n und #Kabelsanschluss-Dosen...

After updating to Linux 6.15, you will notice improved networking performance across many areas, alongside the new features that this pull request brings. The driver API has also seen interesting improvements, such as:
In addition to that, those improvements also bring support for new device drivers, improve existing device drivers, remove the IBM LCS driver for s390, and remove the sb1000 cable modem driver.

Nvidia has been doing a lot of useless stuff lately, but this is actually a big deal. I wonder what the latency looks like on these switches. Traditionally direct-attach copper has always been the preferred choice for low-latency applications, with optics used for longer connections where latency matters less. I'm curious if this is going to change that.
Making a few more short ethernet patch cables in, I hope, T568B style. The last time I had inadvertently and goofily focused on the T568A area in my cabling faq. And despite having done this for ages I don't have it memorized.
The T568A ones will and do work fine. But it's an annoying flub. I wonder what mistake I made this time ;)
Aqara camera with hub: HomeKit Secure Video with PoE and Quad HD
Wi-Fi cameras can potentially be shot from the network, which is why Ethernet cameras are more secure. Aqara now provides one for HomeKit Secure Video.
I can't believe how badly Intel screwed up its 2.5gbit ethernet chip - the i225 seems to be a rolling, rumbling disaster, and the drivers as bad (the one for Linux does not pick up the proper MAC address and, instead, installs the same MAC for every one of these in the box.)
The successor, the i226 seems better, but it is hard to find those, especially as dual-port NICs.
It's so bad that it has driven me to consider using Realtec NICs for my 2.5gbit needs!!!
(I've also had trouble on new Mac Mini's with the 2.5/10gbits copper network interface - I had to turn off AVB/EAV mode [which is deeply hidden in the control panel.])
