Along with 30 rolls of Fuji RDP II I brought a couple of rolls of Kodak infrared film with me to Nepal over 30 years ago. I processed the IR film but never printed it, or even looked at it until I dug it up recently and scanned it. Here are a few selects. (In the self portrait I'm the guy in the middle).

One of the reasons I love #infraredphotography as much as I do is its ability to turn the normally mundane completely on its head, such as how it rendered this small patch of brush at the north end of #fortdesotopark. In normal light, it's unremarkable but #ir changes that, turning it into something otherworldly. Managed to actually catch some sun today for some IR photography. Definitely a very different experience shooting (especially when I have to guess the focus manually). Not bad for a first go on a hunk o junk DIY camera tho.

Also, kinda wild how IR goes right through sunglasses as if they weren't even there

The reflection from this mirror says “truth” and this woman is literally standing in the way of it and fiddling with her phone. Meanwhile some folks stand shoulder to shoulder outside of the wall, facing away from it…

The symbolism feels apt (or I’m really just reading way too much into it all). Either way, it’s definitely one of my favorite shots from this weekend.

Just got back from a local lake and this time I remembered to bring my infrared modded camera with me along with my 590nm filter. I forgot the camera set to an ISO of 800 for this shot but I'm still happy with how it came out.
