Decent local article about the Grapes of Wrath #buhurt tournament we attended two weeks ago. Mountain Run Winery, 5 minutes from our house, has plenty of space to host numerous amazing events all year, from weddings, live music & reunions to buhurt, #LARP, craft fairs, and even a viking & mead fest (and yes, the winery also makes its own very good mead as well as beers).

The topic of the larp is the climate crisis and how online discussion works. The larp doesn't require previous larp experience.

Google DocsRegistration: LauteillaYou have been chosen to participate in a citizen’s assembly. The purpose of the assembly is to reach a balanced view on how climate change affects Finnish people and give the Finnish State guidance on what kind of view to take regarding it. Who are you representing? This online larp asks what kind of communication is possible in social media. What is needed for participation? – Participating on-site in the starting and ending meetings, and online in between. The game lasts from Monday 21.4. to Wednesday 23.4. There is a meeting 18:00–20:00 on Monday and 18:00–20:00 on Wednesday, when you need to be present in person. Otherwise, the larp is played remotely. You also need your own device (mobile phone or computer) and an internet connection. Do I need to be present online all the time? – No. Your character can browse social media every now and then, based on your own schedules. Is it difficult to use the larp's online platform? -- During the starting meeting we will check that everyone has created a character and begun playing online. The game masters also are available during the larp if any problems arise. What if I need other kind of help during the larp? – The game masters will be available during the larp. Is the any safer space guidelines in this larp? – In the starting meeting we agree on the rules for playing and communicating personal boundaries during the larp. In this registration form we also ask what kind of play the participants are expecting: based on the responses the game masters will align the "common style of play" in the starting meeting. In this registration form there is also an option to ask for a topic or theme to be categorically excluded from the larp.

Got some hopefully solid 925 silver wire today so quickly made up some loops for a couple of simple earrings for a LARP coming up this weekend.

The wrapping itself is aluminium coated copper (because I'm not that flush). Now test wearing them to get used to the weight and check for a skin reactions. Wire wrapping is something I'm not great at but working on improving sometimes.

There is no law against just making pretty things for yourself, you can just do that :)

Two small red tigers eye stones each in a simple wire wrap. They have a loop near their top centred on them, the wire from this goes up to form a bail, then down around their backs then comes around the sides and moves in a V through the front loop to hold the stones in place. They're attached via simple O-rings to basic earring loops. Everything is sat on a pinky/purple background.
