It was nothing like I expected. My waking consciousness followed dream structures and was dream fluid. I was working out how to handle my characters transition from Kakuriyo to Japan and the advent of COVID. The symbols are useful but the logic useless. What I retain is: orange flags, misformed white moths, and a brown Chinese dragon. If only we had a simple category label to tie all these things together. 🤔As is clearly the case with <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/cyberpunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#cyberpunk</a>, one has to remember that every cool piece of <a href="https://sfba.social/tags/dreampunk" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#dreampunk</a> tech is bound to be used against us by our capitalist overlords, but it may still have value if treated with due caution. Cliff Jones Jr.I think my brain is trying to prevent me from having lucid dreams.Generally, it's been the case that when I go lucid (often by noticing that I'm able to fly and telling myself that that only happens in dreams), I wake up right away. But lately, I've been "waking up" into another layer of dreaming, which has the effect of removing the lucidity I've just gained.This happened last night, but also I wasn't *quite* flying, so that didn't trigger the lucidity this time. I was jumping and drifting, caught in updrafts with autumn leaves, which I described as "almost flying." The thing is, that was all so enjoyable and beautiful that I told myself, "This is too nice. I must be dreaming," which brought me to the next level of the dream. Same setting essentially, but now the area I was in was smaller and indoors.I'm onto you, dreamself.
