I've created a Bluesky account that automatically posts everything I post to Pixelfed from now on, so to get it going I'm reposting this older picture that was one of my first posts on Pixelfed. In case you're interested: my bluesky account is @puckbarton.nl but sadly since it's just a bot, I can't follow people back

Good #morning, blooms and bloomettes!

It looks like spring is finally here, and that's great news for my allergies. They didn't have much to do the past few months, and so they're making up for lost time. So excuse me while I sneeze through this weekend. It's got nothing to do with you.

Good morning. 🍁🌑☕

A couple of days ago, I spotted a coal skink (Plestiodon anthracinus) slithering around in my office. It darted under and between the books piled beside my bookcase, prompting me to search behind the books, a small chest, and my shredder to locate the intruder. I managed to grab it with my right hand, but it escaped by slipping through my grip and likely took refuge behind the bookcase. With two heavy desks and the bookcase in my office, I wasn't willing to rearrange everything just to chase down a small lizard. I would have gladly taken it outside, where its survival prospects would be far better than in my cluttered office. On the bright side, the encounter motivated me to organize my bookcase, turning the pile of books next to it into a neatly arranged collection.

Good #morning, bees and beeyettes!

Sorry for the lack of updates this week, but it's been quite busy around here. And yes, I realize I've been using that excuse for weeks now, but I, too, would like for my life to quiet down for one fucking minute so I can catch up on all the things I want to do. So far, no luck though.

Good morning. ☮️✌️🪻

Yesterday, we spent time working in the backyard. I repaired a hinge on the back gate and mowed the lawn for the first time this year. I also trimmed around the fence until the battery on my trimmer died—I had forgotten to recharge it after its last use. In that moment, I couldn’t help but think, 'What a wonderful feature: built-in breaks! 😂' It turned out to be the perfect excuse to call it a day. Meanwhile, my wife was busy in the raised garden, planting something new. I noticed several little seed packets in the kitchen, hinting at her plans. This is the first time in years that something other than weeds will grow in the garden. I can't help but wonder what’s gotten into us—where did this burst of energy come from? Must be biorhythms at work.
