The aim of the City of Glasgow Friendly Society was to 'enable members of the industrial classes to arrange with one another for mutual aid during sickness or on the arrival of old age'.

A National Cycle Networt Millennium Mile Post on the Clyde Walkway in Glasgow. Erected in 2000, this is one of four post designs. It was created by Andrew Rowe, and is based upon the nautical and industrial heritage of his native Swansea. A programme to repaint as many of the mile posts as possible began in 2021, with each one being painted in its own unique way.
Had a great turn out for today's event at CUNY York College. Hoping someone shares pictures of participants in action with me because I can never take photos while making paper with people.
We made casts from 2 sections of the sculpture. I think people enjoyed it and appreciated the sculpture in a new way!
