Again With the Mortality Parade, Pt. 001: Thinking about the Lewd, one of my favorite San Fran punk bands of the Mab/On Broadway era (listen to the "American Wino" LP if you can find it). I was fortunate enough to see them when we were all ambulatory. All the best to J. Satz Beret, a truly Interesting Figure in a scene populated with Interesting Figures.

Another Friday pic (consider this a signal flare to draw the attention of all the 1970s Obscuro-Punk enthusiasts). Enhanced snap of the “Frustration/Murder by Guitar” line-up of Crime (as always, San Francisco’s First & Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Band). Johnny Strike was a good guy. Original photo by James Stark.

Poor-quality scan of a nicotine-stained original. The Dils were brothers Chip & Tony Kinman - originally from Carlsbad, transplanted to SF. This 1978 Xerox flyer advertises a gig at Broadway's low-rent punk palace, Mabuhay Gardens, and boasts a couple don't-miss opening bands. I was at home and (probably) watching Donny & Marie on TV with my parents.

Let’s pause to enjoy an AI-enhanced snap of the original line-up of Crime (San Francisco’s First & Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Band), taken in 1976 at their practice studio near South Park in SF. Photographer unknown, but it was probably James Stark. These are the things that amuse me.
