I'm sure we must have some of the left #athletics / #trackandfield watchers here, but thinking about the new Olympic events, what happened with the mixed 2x2x400m relay?

When I saw it in 2019, I thought it was very well received, and it offered 800/1500m runners a relay of their own.

Instead we now have another 4x100m added.

And having looked at the World Relays event, what is even the point of it still existing now it only includes the Olympic events, and no 'oddball' ones, like 4x200, medley and shuttle hurdles?
