Today #oxford was out proud in support of its #trans community, and trans people countrywide, protesting the #supremeCourt ruling about excluding trans people from the #uk #equalitiesAct

1, 2,3,4 stop your stupid #cultureWar
5,6,7,8 you can't make us cis or straight!

Some great speakers at start, really positive vibes, amazing turnout of trans, #nonbinary #lgbtqia and allies.

Please boost to show trans people we won't put up with this billionaire-funded hateful legislation!

[Edit: blurred visible faces just in case]

Christine Burns, one of the UK’s best known #trans rights advocates, said a blanket ban on trans women using women’s facilities was:

“an incredibly dangerous statement, given that they give no indication how that should be enforced”

I still fail to see how any rational clarity has been brought by this Supreme Court ruling.

#Greens and #LibDems right to question it.

The Guardian · Trans people banned from toilets of gender they identify with, says UK ministerBy Libby Brooks

Look I don't know why you're all having trouble understanding this, it's very simple:
If you have a penis you have to use the men's toilets and if you have a vagina you have to use the women's toilets. Except if you have a vagina but look too much like a man you can't use the women's toilets, but if you don't have a penis you can't use the men's toilets. If you have a penis but didn't always have a penis you can't use the men's toilets either but you also might not be able to use the women's toilets. If you look like a woman but either have a penis or did have a penis at one point we might not let you use the men's for your own safety.

Thank you Supreme Court for providing this much needed clarity.

"What has a #trans person ever done for me?"

Well, one co-designed the ARM processor - you're probably holding a few in your hand right now. She created the Instruction Set - which essentially defines the entire processor ecosystem.

The last I heard, two billion ARM cores are shipped every quarter.

I heard a rumour when I worked at ARM that she suggested that the main character in Tomb Raider should be female, but I haven't seen confirmation of that
