Five years ago #yesterday, we stayed at a #WaltDisneyWorld resort as the world was falling apart. We’d booked and planned a #WDW trip as a last hurrah before we left for #Hawaii. Then #Covid happened and everything changed. We had tickets out of Orlando, so we managed to stay one night at our resort, which was also going into lock-down the next day. The parks were closed. I think we were one of maybe a dozen people staying at the place. It was an eerie experience (and a particularly sad note to say goodbye to my mom on). We grabbed one of the last Disney busses to the airport and made our way to Phoenix.

By the way: When you choose to fly in and out of a small airport 45 minutes from #WaltDisneyWorld & you take an #Uber #Rideshare BACK to #Sanford (airport) to catch your flight home, please realize that the driver likely will have to #deadhead back to #WaltDisneyWorld and therefore a $10 tip is NOT enough to cover gas & time for that trip!

It's another story when the airport is #MCO & nearby, but you chose to penny-pinch and fly #Allegiant into the small airport!

In other words: be nice!

Dear lady who got into my #Uber #Rideshare yesterday and proceeded to hack and cough all the way to the airport w/o covering her nose and/or mouth OR telling me she was sick and/or asking for a mask when she saw me driving while wearing my mask: "Fuck you! And yes, you got a ONE STAR rating cos I had to stop afterwards and go offline in order to lysol and wipe down my entire van afterwards AT THE AIRPORT meaning I couldn't get an immediate ride and had to deadhead back to #WaltDisneyWorld " 🤬

Living in Florida means hearing Security Cast Members at #WaltDisneyWorld say to me: "Have a Blessed Day!"

I WANT to look at them & say: "I'm a Jew. Blessed - to me - does not mean what it means to you..."!

Cultural Idiomatic phrasing aside, I may be reading a LOT into it, but them working at a security booth at Disney makes me uncomfortable with the fact that if I don't respond favorably, they'll not let me in..." 😳
