A memory. It was springtime and Mum was pregnant, so I was two. Nan was a cook in a hospital, Grandad a builder, and Dad a radio engineer. Mum was preparing tea when Nan got home and saw me playing on the rug in front of the living room fire. "A little bird told me you've been a good boy today." I imagined a sparrow hopping along on hedges beside her as she walked home, telling her all about my day. The idea of a talking bird was as natural to me as my knowledge of Nan's magic. #witchcraft
This weekend was all about chandlery!
I’ve been making beeswax candles from locally sourced wax for my witchy stall - a new business venture that I’m embarking on.
The tiny ones are mini spell candles that burn for exactly 30 minutes.
The largest candle burns for 120 hours!
But the hand-dipped candles are my pride and joy. They burn for around 7 hours each. And I’m so pleased with how they turned out.
This is witchcraft.
