#Xmas #Regifting

My sister sent me a HUGE tin of cookies for Xmas.

We "had" an agreement not to gift anything to each other any more but she did it anyway.

Sent it to my PO which is also a PITA if I have to stand in line to retrieve it but fortunately they put it in a parcel locker so I didn't have to do that.

Think she knows (but didn't think to think about) the fact that I don't eat cookies in quantity.

Had to deliver some misdirected mail to my next door neighbor & offered them to him.

He was happy to accept them which should add to my political capital with that neighbor. So, the gift was good for something.

LOL!

Despite all of the #Xmas movies on #TV, I've avoided watching any yet today -- unless you consider #DieHard (1998), that I'm watching right now to be one -- but I did watch 2 Xmas shows that are well worth watching if you still can find them on TV or find them somewhere online:

1) On #PBS: #UrbanNutcracker which is a modern take on the classical #Nutcracker that is still mainly a #ballet but also which incorporates other types of music & dance styles beyond #ClassicalMusic & #Ballet.

2) On #CNN: A special called "Tis the Season" (2022) which highlights the most notable Xmas movies, cartoons & TV specials & episodes ever made/aired.

Well, #Xmas is 90 mins from being over & I just opened a bottle of 2010 #Cabernet & put #DieHard (1998) into the #DVD player because people keep saying it's an #XmasMovie.

I haven't watched the #movie in years.

Forgot that #JamesShigeta is in it.

I'll let ya all know what I think after I finish watching it again.

I love #dogs. I just can't own one.

Every time that I think that I'd like to buy (another) one . . .

I'm reminded off all of the that I have to pick up, all of the time that I'd have to spend walking/exercising it and all of the $ that I have to spend on food, toys, vets fees & this & that in order to keep one.

Needless to say, I didn't buy a #dog for #Xmas.

I just bought a #plushtodon instead. LOL!

I will be alone on #Xmas & have no problem with it.

It's just another day to me.

No explanation or sympathy necessary.

Whether you believe in Christianity or Santa Claus or neither (as is the case for me) . . .

Xmas wishes to everyone to be able enjoy the day in the way that they choose to enjoy it.

Now *that's* an old-fashioned Silicon Valley Christmas!
