@955_36@sfba.social@Infoseepage @RickiTarr I was going to try to read the Book of Mormon one time, and I got as far as the introduction before I realized this was some real bat shit crazy writing and I gave up. It's amazing to me that you can walk around with the world's knowledge in your pocket right now and still believe what Joseph Smith wrote.
@955_36 The tithing can bankrupt believers...but the church will help you get back on your feet, 'through the hard times'. You wouldn't HAVE hard times, if the tithing wasn't so savage.

@955_36 @Infoseepage @RickiTarr I swiped a Book from a hotel I stayed in Utah, took it home and read most of it. When some missionaries came by I surprised them with "Glad you're here, I have questions about your book!" They looked at me in a panic, mumbled something about getting me in touch with an elder and disappeared.

It’s like antibiotics— if you don’t take the full course, you’re worse off than when you started.
It’s as if most of America has been given the pessimal amount of critical thinking skills.
