I did it; I walked into an optometrist office and asked them to adjust my glasses because my eye doctor retired. Please clap. (I don’t know why that was so scary)
@Bronwyn were they nice? My experience in those situations has almost always been positive.
@chefraven they were a little brusque but I think that was just their personality. Not un-nice.

@Bronwyn @jewishreader I didn't open my mail for 4 years in the past, and I haven't gotten a bike tire flat fixed for 18 months right now. 2 examples from many. So while I think not going in because anxiety is ridiculous, it's because I do the same damn thing and I know I'm ridiculous about it.
@kingrat @jewishreader anxiety brain is ridiculous in so many ways and also so super real.
I wish we could swap for each other because takin your bike to get fixed would be fine for me while going to the optometrist for glasses adjustment was really hard. But if it were my bike and your glasses it would be opposite.
@Bronwyn they always make mine fit worse so I just bend them until it finally stays put.
@sysop408 I used to do that until I just made it much, much worse at one point.
@Bronwyn oh that happens to me too so then I bend everything the other way. Eventually I stumble into a good combo. Unfortunately by this point it’s usually about 2 months before I need a new prescription and so it starts all over again.
I reuse my frames a lot. I always hope they don’t “fix them” for me when they update my lenses, but it always comes back reset. 
I’ve had such a bad time with my current ones that I picked up some rubber stoppers that I installed on the arms. They work! And I got them so they aren’t too uncomfortable.
