Cara Bruar

My photo of Weereewa / Lake George New South Wales, north east of Canberra.
This is a shallow lake that dries out during droughts. At the time of Australian federation in 1901 it was considered as a possible site for the new capital. In the end Canberra was chosen.
A former Federal treasurer complained about how much he hated the wind turbines on the far side.
One of my better images, I think because there is more light and shade contrast than usual. Or the lake is just very photogenic.

@CaraBruar looks so much like the Altamont Pass near me.

@pussreboots it's at around 500metres above sea level, quite high for Australia. Cold and dry and windy.

@CaraBruar Ours is only at 226 m above sea level which is short for California.

@pussreboots I've been to California, serious mountains you have there. We flew to Phoenix then travelled via Monoment Valley and Salt Lake across the top to Sacremento, then down the valley to Yosemite, San Jose and San Francisco. Awesome 3 weeks.

@pussreboots forgot to mention Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon, went there too. Got altitude sickness at Bryce. So big hills.

@CaraBruar I've been to both those places too.

@CaraBruar You probably drove right by me on your way to San Francisco.

@CaraBruar I was in Pacifica back then. So yeah, you were nearby.

@pussreboots it was so weird. I could understand people speaking becos, 60 years of American TV, but noone could understand me.

@CaraBruar It's a shame we hadn't met. I could have translated for you. :D
