This water dragon / goanna lived a happy well-fed life at the Chinese Friendship Garden in Darling Harbour, Sydney. It was very interested in my dumplings but I didn't want to share so it it lost interest in me. My photo from 2011.

Large brown goanna with paler brown stripes, sitting upright on a grey rock, its tail stretching a long way out behind it. The lizard is about one metre long in total, head to tail, and has very strong back legs and claws grasping the rock. A pond with reflections of buildings forms the background.
