“A Wicked Good Time” is a compilation of Boston area bands put together by Modern Methods Records

The album starts with an edgy power pop band called ‘Pastiche’ who only ever released a few singles.

Lots of other cool tracks by bands that went nowhere. Mostly power pop bands, but we also get two tracks from Boston's legendary punks ‘La Peste’. Their song "Lease on Life" sounds like a remake of Agent Orange's "Bloodstains." And the B side includes some more avant garde and no-wave style bands.

But the real gem imho is the band ‘Young Snakes’, featuring Aimee Mann on lead vocals and bass guitar. Their song, "Brains and Eggs”, sounds a bit like the modern band Lithics. It’s a great song. Too bad they never got around to releasing a full album.
