Today's weather was as good as it gets here on the north coast of California.
Summer and I leaned on our deck railing to watch the sun go down. I didn't even need a jacket.
We always share what's on our mind so I was telling her how concerned I am for our friends at the VA. The staff and fellow veterans.
For the last two years they have been our lifeline to health care and essential medical supplies.
Literally saving my husband's life more than once.
I wish I had the reach to broadcast to the world the importance of these public servants, and the services they provide. I would tell the world that I am sorry that they are being treated unfairly. They deserve so much better.

@NorcalGma2 this is a beautiful message and I’ll pass it along. It will go a long way.

I'm only 40% disabled, but I've only used VA services twice (initial evaluation)... because I don't trust them to provide the best care (and I'm very stubborn). So I've relied (to date) on a combination of my TRICARE coverage, and civilian medical providers. It was easier in South Carolina, when I had access to TRICARE Prime and military medical facilities (not an option here).

But I certainly support EVERY Veterans' right to receive the finest health care in our Nation, free of charge. Anything less is a complete breach of contract. We were promised lifetime full medical care when we signed up. The gap that exists now, is due to Congress, and Republicans in particular. Not fully funding the VA, demanding monthly fees for coverage previously free...

I'm not much concerned about myself, but I am very concerned about combat Veterans like your hubby, and all of those suffering from PTSD, or health issues due to exposure to toxic chemical agents.

Oddly, Trump and his minions don't seem to care about people who dedicated their lives to this Nation. Because, according to him, we're "losers" and "dumb".

We didn't use the VA services until after my husband's bladder cancer surgery. We were out of options so I called to see if we could get any help with ostomy supplies. Both of my husband's cancer diagnosis are 100% service related. He has been 100% for about 3 years.
We were going broke buying ostomy supplies when his provider sat down with me and figured out how we could get them through the VA.
We have gotten exemplary care from our local clinic and the hospital in San Francisco. Far better than the private care options we have in our rural community.

@NorcalGma2
We cannot remember when, before this evening, we dined out of doors. In North Beach! Right now, the temperature at City College is 60℉ but feels much warmer.

@NorcalGma2 The information has got out to the world. We are angry at the contempt shown to veterans, and those who help them.Musk's little rats don't care what damage they do. It's a game to them. But it was Trump who let them loose. The buck stops on his desk.

@NorcalGma2 people who work for the VA are doing such critical work, it breaks my heart that they are under such threat

It feels like there is something cruel and heartbreaking happening to one group of people or another every day. Unbelievable.
