It's been over two years since Andrew Zieman was killed by a driver in front of the school he taught at, and the street is still just as dangerous today
The SFMTA has failed to make the street safer.
Come through to Franklin/Union on Thurs 3/14 at 7:30am to demand better.
One of the very first Safe Street Rebel actions was right after that tragedy. We heard from so many neighbors about how dangerous Franklin has been for years. 2024 is supposed to be when we reach Vision Zero, that requires action.

SFMTA promise a lane diet after the crash, but never followed through, citing the failed ideology of traffic engineering. This cannot stand. Pedestrian, biker, scooter (yes, even driver) safety is more important than car throughput. Join us next week.

@SafeStreetRebel Gough/Turk is an accident waiting to happen. Honestly surprised no one has been killed there yet. Cars come bombing down Gough and swing onto Turk without even looking for pedestrians. The corners are a park, a rec field, senior housing, and an elementary school. Recipe for disaster.
