Seconded. I will not put my government ID on my phone, because I don’t want to hand (or even show) my phone to police, even when it’s locked. Yes, you can force lock the phone and require a passcode etc, but why even put all your risk in one basket?

Diversify your risk portfolio. Use different vendors for your critical services. It’s not a big burden for me to carry a separate ID card. I continue to carry a bank credit card too, instead of relying entirely on Apple Pay; it really is no big deal.

Todon.eupanic!("insert liberal apology here") (@jalcine@todon.eu)Attached: 1 image Never put your ID in your phone. This is a fucking security risk. Police will shoot people for any reason and the act of grabbing a phone, which Google's are closer to the size of a pistol, is a bad idea. https://www.theverge.com/2024/9/24/24252235/police-unlock-phone-password-face-id-apple-wallet-id Don't even justify this feature. Let them kill it the way they killed Google Reader.
